Welcome to our new website!

We have been waiting for winter to be over, this season has been long and hard. However, as I write this post it’s 25 degrees outside and I can hear the wind blowing. Let’s hope the old saying is right and March goes out like a lamb.

Here’s a list of projects to complete around the farm:

  1. Move chickens to pasture.
  2. Build summer home for rabbits
  3. Build a “tractor” for meat chickens
  4. Prep for pigs!
  5. Plan and plant the garden
  6. Fix the electric in the garage
  7. Start on the perimeter fence
  8. Clean up around the farm
  • Will trade eggs for labor

A quick farm update:

  • Two weeks ago I (Tyler) attended the WV Small Farm Conference in Morgantown hosted by WVU Extension. It was a great experience meeting fellow WV farmers and learning from a lot of experts. Separate blog post on the conference coming soon!
  • The hens did great this winter and we are getting a lot of eggs.
  • We are hoping for baby rabbits next month. Be sure to follow us for future cute baby bunny pictures.
  • The last weekend in February we attended the 40th Annual Worley Garner Festival in Morgantown. We reunited with old friends and played on stage for the first time in nearly a year! It was great to play and for the boys to get exposed to so much bluegrass and old time music.

That sums up our winter.

God Bless.

Go support something local!
