Looking ahead

Looking ahead to 2018, with a glance back to 2017.

Our family grew this past year with the birth of our son Tobias, he’s our little red head and is so sweet. We also added livestock, 12 chickens and 6 rabbits. Tyler and I began leading a community group through our church, Chestnut Ridge Church- continuing our pursuit to grow our relationship with our Savior. Townes turned 2, enjoys helping on the farm and continues his love for all things that have a motor and move.

On the farm, we became a business. We were able to rotationally graze chickens and supply our own eggs. We built a garden and harvested green beans, squash, tomatoes and peppers. We built a Raken house to keep the rabbits and chickens in during the winter months.

We continued to support other local farms by purchasing produce, beef, and pork from Mountain Harvest Farm, Brown Cow Farms and Keener Cattle Company.

This year we plan to build fence, produce and preserve more fruits and vegetables, add pigs and have product available for purchase. We would also like to have at least 1 on farm event. We plan to expand our knowledge and experience of farming and continue sharing our story with you!
